Indianapolis 500 Penthouse Experience

The first (and oldest) automobile race in America, the Indianapolis 500 has established itself as a piece of American history. From the moment the Indianapolis Motor Speedway opened for business on August 19, 1909, the 2.5-mile oval in America's heartland has been the testing surface for most of today's automobile manufacturers. Since then, the Indy 500 has tested everything from improved gas-tanks through safety belts and today lays claim to the greatest Formula One race in the USA. The track itself is nicknamed the "Brickyard", as the racing surface was paved in brick in the fall of 1909. One yard of brick remains exposed at the start/finish line. The event, billed as The Greatest Spectacle in Racing, is considered part of the Triple Crown of Motorsport along with the 24 Hours of Le mans and the Monaco Grand Prix with which it typically shares a date.
